Your documents are stored in Australia
Everything the SignSwifly app stores — documents, signatures, audit records and account data — is kept in Microsoft Azure data centres in Australia. Some things go outside Australia, and our Privacy Policy lists them all. Among them: emails reach each signer’s own mailbox, wherever that is (with the signed documents attached, if you choose to attach them); billing details are held by Stripe, which may store them in the United States; texts to signers go through ClickSend, which stores them in Australia, though its group may process them overseas; and email to our support address, and messages from our contact form, are kept in our support mailbox, hosted by Hostinger outside Australia.
In detail
Built with the Australian Privacy Principles in mind
- Documents and signer data stored onshore; what does go overseas is listed in our Privacy Policy
- Sealed documents and certificates kept in write-once (WORM) storage for 7 years
- Our services reach production data through managed identities, not stored passwords
- Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest; the document-sealing key held in Azure Key Vault
- Document storage encrypted with our own keys held in Azure Key Vault, rather than Azure’s Coming soon
Why residency matters
- Government, health and financial clients increasingly ask for documents to be stored onshore
- A contract with a data-location clause can be checked against one short list of what leaves Australia, and why
The benefits
Simpler procurement
Answer “where does SignSwifly store our documents?” in one word: Australia.
Lower compliance risk
Documents and signing evidence are stored onshore, so your cross-border analysis covers what leaves on purpose: emails, texts to signers, billing, support, and anything you send elsewhere yourself, such as webhooks.
Evidence that lasts
The seal and write-once storage mean the signed record you rely on can't be quietly changed.
